Hair Transplant Surgery can aid both men and woman suffering from Hair Loss. This can be due to genetics, alopecia, stress or the aging process. There are 2 main techniques when it comes to Hair Transplantation. The most common is the STRIP technique, also known as FUT. A strip is taken from the back of the hair where the area is denser. This strip is then made into the grafts that are transferred to the bald or thinning area. The other technique is called FUE, this is where grafts are taken one by one from the back of the head and placed to the balding area. In some cases more than 1 session is needed and these can be 3 months apart.
LENGTH OF SURGERY
Depending on the case and how many grafts will be transplanted, the procedure can take anywhere from 6 – 10 hours.
TYPE OF ANESTHESIA
Local Anesthesia is used. The patient is awake and aware during the procedure.
- Swelling of the scalp and bruising around the eyes.
- Initial recovery time in destination: 3 – 5 days
- Full recovery process: 2 weeks
- Final Results: You will start to see the results within 3 months however the final results will be in 1 year.
It is important to follow the surgeon´s recommendations and instructions to ensure a positive recovery and the best results possible.
