Thigh Lift

DESCRIPTION
A thigh lift refers to a number of procedures that remove excess skin and fat from the upper leg (thigh) area, improving the body contour. This is often desirable after substantial or bariatric weight loss or in individuals or for whom dieting or exercising has failed to reduce the excess tissue in the thigh area. Liposuction may be done to help the contouring of the area. Patients are advised to maintain a healthy lifestyle and moderate weight to maintain the area looking youthful.
LENGTH OF SURGERY
The surgery generally takes 2 hours, but this can go up to 4 hours if larger amounts of fat tissue and skin have to be removed.
TYPE OF ANESTHESIA
General anesthesia is the common anesthesia used for this procedure, however local sedation can be used.
